about
We explore material and form, turning the process of discovery into an independent statement. We create objects at the intersection of design and art, employing unconventional shapes and reinterpreting the typologies of everyday items. Tactility is essential to us—materiality is expressed through plasticity and the unexpected combination of textures
Ordinary objects become independent "characters" within a space. The studio grew out of work with ceramics and craft technologies, evolving into more complex objects such as lighting and interior pieces. Our further development lies in creating large-scale items and lighting installations that shape the entire space into a unified concept.
The "oforme" project has existed since 2018. Until recently, it developed primarily as an authorial practice focused on experimenting with form and material, and working with private commissions. Now we are entering the public sphere, preparing objects for participation in exhibitions and collaborations with galleries, while preserving the research-driven nature of the project.
We are beginning our exhibition activities and are open to collaboration with galleries and curators.
We work with both objects and space: we design the form of items while simultaneously projecting architectural and interior environments. This experience provides a holistic understanding of how objects exist in space, how they relate to scale, light, and surroundings. It allows us to see everything as a single entity, where design and architecture complement one another.
project oforme is a product design studio founded by architects Alexandra Batyreva and Nikolay Batyrev in Saint Petersburg.
